Getting There:

By air: There is an airport just 6km outside the town. It serves domestic flights from Phnom Penh as well as international flights from most South-East Asian cities.

The best way to get to Siem Reap from the airport is via taxi or moto (motor-taxi).

By bus: Buses leave Phnom Penh regularly for Siem Reap, although the road between both places isn’t the best one in the world, meaning long journeys. You can also travel to the town via bus from Bangkok.

By boat: Boats leave Phnom Penh for Phnom Krom which is 11km south of Siem Reap.

Getting Around:

By moto: These motor-taxis are available everywhere in the town. They can be rented for the day, bringing many tourists to and from the temples and are inexpensive.

By ‘romauk’: These are two-person motorcycle trailers and are slowly becoming the most popular form of public transport in Siem Reap.

By bicycle: Bikes can be rented at most hostels/guesthouses in Siem Reap among other places. They are a great way to get to the temples if you are feeling energetic.
